Performance Review and Improvement
Often DFF is called on to review either specific or general concerns of clients over their logistics or supply chain performance. This involves carrying out detailed investigations to determine the true costs and efficiency of operations. The questions asked during the review:
- Do your supply chain arrangements properly support your strategy/policy objectives?
- Do you know accurately what your supply chain costs are?
- Do you know the costs incurred by each activity or product?
- Are you happy with these costs as a percentage of your sales value?
- Are your customers happy with your service? Do you really know?
- Do you have differential targets for customer service?
- Do you measure/monitor your performance with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and are you happy with: the range of KPIs; how measurements are obtained; performance against the KPIs; comparison with benchmarks.
- Are your transport arrangements efficient and cost effective?
- Are your warehousing and materials handling operations efficient and cost effective?
- Are your stocks at the right level and held in the right place(s)?
- Are you ready for change?
